Job Description

Provides Patient Access Registration staff training and quality analysis of all new and existing employees who register using HMS / MedHost.  Any and all areas where patients are registered such as Emergency Department, Registration, Urgent Care, Physician Office building, Therapy Services, and Free Standing Emergency Department.  To assist in ensuring the policies and procedures of MountainView Regional Medical Center are being met. Works with the staff on up-front collections in order to lower bad debt. Responsible for a proactive approach to maintain and improve the registration process.


Qualifications

Education:
Required:Associates degree in Education, Business or related field and/or equivalent years of experience.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Knowledgeable in medical insurances (Medicare, Medicare Secondary Payer, Medicaid, HMO’s, PPO’s, commercial), EMTALA regulations. 
 
Experience:
Required: At least 2 years hospital or similar medical facility experience.  Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.  Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Computer literate with spreadsheet and word processing applications.  Organized, efficient and detail oriented.  The ability to use Windows-based system, fax, copier, and multi-line, multi-function phone.
