Job Description

Obtain pertinent information from patients to determine insurance coverage, benefits and requirements of their insurance company for surgical procedures. Able to communicate effectively with patients or their representatives about financial requirements, clinic and insurance requirements to obtain the procedures they desire. Tracking patients throughout their process to make sure they are informed and requirements are met for their procedure. Registers patients based on multiple types of service, prioritizes registrations accordingly and engages in all necessary follow through. Obtains pertinent information from patient, determines insurance coverage and informs patients or their representatives of financial requirements, collecting when necessary

Hospital, clinic, or similar medical facility experience
• Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to clinic standards when no directions are given.
• Previous experience with insurance verification, preferably in a fast paced medical clinic environment.
• Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress
• Computer literate with spreadsheet and word processing applications, able to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
• Organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• The ability to use Windows-based system, fax, copier, and multi-line, multi-function phone.
• Patient focused, above average communication skills.
• Able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards.
• Organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• Able to work independently or with little or no supervision.
