Job Description

The Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) reviews patient documentation and diagnostic information to analyze and abstract tumor data into the New Mexico Tumor Registry Database and the National Cancer Data Base. The CTR assigns and reports codes for diagnosing and treating cancers for reporting and regulatory compliance. The CTR will assist with staging of cancers for determination of appropriate treatment.

Education:

Required: High School Dip or GED 

Experience:

Required: At least one (1) year of experience in a hospital or medically related environment as a Registrar

Licenses/Certificates:

Required: Current Certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) from the National Registrar's Association of America.
