The core of our family starts with our Nursing professionals. Their hard work and dedication to the community they serve is truly what differentiates us from the rest. With over 35 medical specialties, both experienced Nurses and recent graduate Nurses enjoy being part of our fast paced Nursing team.
MountainView’s ER continues to grow rapidly and we’re looking for talented Nurses who will fit into our fast-paced, energetic unit. Our unit has just been expanded to 22 patient rooms with 9 additional beds for less-emergent patients. Staffed by a dedicated group of Physicians and Physician Assistants, we care for more than 37,500 patients each year. We care for a broad range of patients, from newborns to geriatrics. We serve as a regional transfer center, so in addition to patients arriving via private vehicle and ambulance, we also receive patients via helicopter for a wide range of conditions like STEMIs, brain bleeds, and other complex medical and surgical needs. As a department, we work well as a team, and are proud to be participatory in the maintenance of our chest pain and stroke accreditations. The ER is the front door to MountainView and both the Director and Administration are supportive in giving the ER the tools and resources needed to provide exceptional care to our community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you’re an experienced Nurse with a passion for caring for complex patients, MountainView’s ICU is the place for you. With 23 patient rooms, we provide recovery for patients who have undergone open heart surgery, craniotomies, high-risk reconstructive surgery, and other complex procedures. We care for patients with ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and more. With a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio, we have a strong team of experienced Nurses who are committed to our patients and committed to each other.
Whether you’re a pre-op, OR, PACU or Endoscopy nurse, our busy surgical services departments need you! We have 8 ORs and average between 600 and 750 cases a month. In addition to our main ORs at MountainView Regional Medical Center, we also have two affiliated outpatient surgery centers. Our fast-paced unit relies on teamwork and a culture of safety, where each team member is encouraged to provide feedback on safety, workflow, and the needs of the department. Working in the OR will give you exposure to a vast range of surgical procedures and leading-edge technology. Currently, our team assists with the following specialties: general, ortho, neuro, spine, urology, vascular, reconstructive plastics, ENT, gynecological, dental, gastrointestinal, organ procurement, open heart, and da Vinci robotics. Our Nurses train in every room and on every specialty so that we can work together to support our Surgeons. While OR hours can be unpredictable with call, we place a high emphasis on work-life balance, and have an evening shift in the OR to make sure that day shift can leave on time. We also have two Techs in each case and dedicated Housekeeping Staff to help turn rooms quickly to keep us on schedule.
Our 62-bed Medical/Surgical unit is staffed with a Clinical Nurse Leader who provides direct care coordination, RNs and LPNs who provide direct patient care and CNAs and Patient Care Technicians who serve as care assistants. Our unit offers a unique opportunity for hands on education with unit based educators who teach at the bedside. We also have a 14-bed surgical wing that provides specialized care for patients who have undergone joint replacement, urological, general surgery and advanced spine surgeries. We also provide bladder irrigation, peripheral and central line IV therapy, gastric feedings, chest tubes, and epidural pain control, among other services. We’re looking for Nurses with great skills who are eager to challenge themselves by caring for patients with increasing complexity and acuity in a supportive environment. Our department is family-oriented and focused on fairness and equality.
Our Women and Children’s Services unit is comprised of four departments – Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Level II Nursery, and Pediatrics. Our L&D unit has 6 private patient rooms, 2 ORs, 4 triage beds, and 2 ante partum rooms, our Post-Partum unit has 12 private rooms, our Level II Nursery has space for 13 babies, and our Pediatrics unit has 5 beds and an exam room. As a Baby Friendly Hospital, as certified by UNICEF and WHO, we place an emphasis on supporting our moms and babies. We host monthly childbirth education and breastfeeding classes, taught by a trained Lactation Consultant. Our primary cesarean section rate is one of the lowest in the Southwest, and we have dedicated Nurse Anesthesiologists 24/7. With an average of 100 births a month, our unit is fast-paced and energetic, but we are one big family – you’ll never be alone, and we always work together and provide each other emotional support.
We’re compassionate critical thinkers intent on building a unit founded on comradery and integrity. The type and complexity of patients on our floor is constantly changing, from post-AMIs, CHF, and dysrhythmias to acute CVAs, COPD and drug overdose, we treat a broad range of patients. We also provide pre-op care for patients undergoing cath and CABG procedures and use bedside monitoring for patients on various cardiac drips. Our team is staffed by a Clinical Nurse Leader who provides direct care coordination, RNs who serve as direct caregivers, and CNAs and Patient Care Technicians who serve as Care Assistants.
A Message from Our CNO
Learn from our CNO, Gayle Nash, about rewarding Nursing careers at MountainView Regional Medical Center.
Nurses at MountainView are special, and as the Chief Nursing Officer, I view my most important work as making sure each Nurse feels like they are constantly growing. I’m passionate about helping them navigate their careers and giving them the tools and resources they need to take their career to the next level. My goal is to build really great Nurses who can step into any clinical situation with the confidence and skill to manage any patient and any illness. Our Nurses take on new clinical challenges every day and embrace them fearlessly with the support, foundation and education to safely care for patients. At MountainView, we focus on hands-on bedside education, using a “learn one, do one, teach one” method, so that each Nurse eventually becomes the teacher. If you’re a Nurse who wants to be inspired and challenged, supported and valued, and you have a drive to advance yourself and your practice, we hope you’ll consider joining our team of talented Clinicians.Gayle Nash, CNO
Growth and Development
We know our Nurses have goals and we want to help them achieve them. We have RN Preceptors and Nurse Educators in place to make sure our Nurses have the right resources to excel. Our LPN and Techs can also participate in our Nurse Education Program to progress in their career and become an RN.
