Job Description

MountainView Regional Medical Center, a 168-bed facility located in Las Cruces, N.M., is accredited by the Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO). The facility includes fully staffed 24-hour emergency care, a specialized Heart Center, Women's Center, Comprehensive Intensive Care Services and an All-Digital Imaging Department, plus Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Services, Emergency Services, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Wound Care Center/Hyperbarics, Diagnostic and Imaging Services, Pain Management Center and an ADA Certified Diabetes Program.

Primarily responsible for coordinating the functions that may include patients of all ages, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and elderly. Creates a harmonious environment that conveys the hospital's mission and vision to employees and guests.
 
The Clinical Nurse Manager demonstrates Clinical level II competencies as a role model for nursing practice.  Management responsibilities are comprehensive in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, communications, group process, service excellence, use of personal resources, control of patient and staff environment and budgeting.  Involvement is expected in educational endeavors for staff and self, as well as research applicable to patient care.  Management responsibilities actively involve staffing a variety of functions that develop professional accountability and improve performance.
 
The Clinical Nurse Manager accepts ownership of his/her own work and reports to the Director of ED.


Qualifications

Education:       
1.  Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing       
2.  Current Licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing.       
3.  Certification in specialty area of practice preferred.  BSN or healthcare related field preferred.         
Experience       
Three to Five years clinical nursing experience.  Demonstrates skills in communication, conflict resolution and human relations.  Exhibits a team approach.  Knowledgeable of fiscal, general healthcare issues, trends, quality management and legal aspects o       
       
Licenses/Certificates       
       
1.  Required: Current professional nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Mexico or compact       
2.  Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support)       
3.  Required: Current ACLS  (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required - if not currently certified at the time of hire, must complete first course offered.       
4.  Required: Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) requried -  if not currently certified at the time of hire, must complete the first course offered.       
5.  Required: Current (Trauma Nurse Core Course) if not currently certified at the time of hire must take first available course offered.
